Switching To Energy Efficient Appliances: The Samsung Refrigerator

Going solar is great, and one of the great things about it is how it increases energy awareness, and encourages energy conservation. If your rooftop solar system isn’t enough to cover all of your electricity needs, it really encourages you to save energy and get your net energy  consumption from the grid down to zero. If you’re off the grid, there’s even more incentive. One of the best ways to save energy (and money) is to use more efficient appliances. Below is some info about one good option.

The Samsung RF263BEAESR* French door refrigerator is now Energy Star certified, meaning that it is more energy efficient than the typical new refrigerator. But it gets better. In addition to being Energy Star certified, it has Energy Star’s most efficient status. So, what is that? The Energy Star website says: “The ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2015 designation recognizes the most efficient products among those that qualify for the ENERGY STAR program. These exceptional refrigerators represent the leading edge in energy efficient products this year.”

If that has piqued your interest, go explore the Energy Star information and look at appliances that have achieved this status. Earning such a label means an appliance can save a significant amount of energy. Of course, energy savings mean saving money, too, sometimes a lot of money. (By the way, the new Energy Star information is for 2015, but the Samsung refrigerator earned a most efficient rating in 2014 as well.)

As if that isn’t enough, it also won a JD Power Customer Satisfaction Award. JD Power ranked it highest in Customer Satisfaction for French Door Refrigerators. The study that found it was such high quality was based on 15,380 responses from actual customers. In other words, the award was based on careful research from perceptions and feedback from people who had used the product.

At the same time, it provides 17.7 cubic feet of space, including five spill-proof shelves made of glass. High-efficiency LED lighting is used to reduce energy consumption, while providing bright illumination inside.

In addition to being energy efficient, this home appliance can make up to 10 pounds of ice every day and generates fresh, filtered water. Ice can be made in cubes or crushed. The freezer has a capacity of eight cubic feet and also uses high-efficiency LED lights for interior illumination.

In other words, despite saving a lot of energy, you are not sacrificing anything.

Using a refrigerator rated as the most energy efficient can make a huge difference for saving energy. Such a refrigerator can be combined with other energy-efficient appliances too, for even greater savings. Going solar is just the first step. Use it to lead you into even greater energy and financial savings.
