SolarCity Releases ZS Peak For Better Solar Rooftop Output

SolarCity this week released the ZS Peak, a new system which has potential to increase solar rooftop output for businesses and other organizations.

Coming from its line of  Zep Solar products, SolarCity notes that it’s quicker to install while bringing down the cost of solar electricity.

The ZS Peak’s better aerodynamic design, along with its snap on system, can help businesses that have lightweight roofs. SolarCity said the new system can add between 20–50% more solar generation capacity on each building with no penetration. Meanwhile, thanks to the creative east-west design, up to 50% more solar panels on lightweight roofs and 20% more on standard rooftops will allow for more solar power.

This allows for more efficiency and increased power production while cutting mid-afternoon spikes seen in solar panel systems.

As solar prices plummet, companies will continue to make more, innovative products. Businesses, organizations, and homes will see different types of modules to deliver solid quality solar power with less weight, as shown with the ZS Peak.

“By lengthening power production time and eliminating the typical mid-day spike of standard solar systems, SolarCity can also make more efficient use of solar inverters to further reduce costs for customers,” SolarCity notes.

“SolarCity is currently installing its first project with ZS Peak and expects to begin installing the product in volume in January. Businesses and other organizations interested in SolarCity’s services can contact the company directly at 1-888-SOL-CITY (1-888-765-2489) for a free, no-obligation solar consultation or visit SolarCity online.”

Will businesses and organizations invest in the ZS Peak to reduce energy costs? Considering it’s under the SolarCity brand, I would not be surprised if a lot of businesses were tempted to look at this solar module to cut their bill prices.
